This is the sermon I preached on April 27, 2009 to my Homiletics (preaching) class at Denver Seminary. The target audience for this sermon is the class itself, but much of it is generalizable. I have had several people ask to see it, so I am posting it on here so they can. This is the second sermon I preached in class and perhaps the 4th I have done over the last 10 years. Sermons for this class are done without notes, which adds a level of difficulty, but also helps break communication barriers between the speaker and audience. This preaching is done with the “Big Idea” Expository Preaching method by Robinson and Stanley.

Rom. 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
