Sincere Love

This is the sermon I preached on April 27, 2009 to my Homiletics (preaching) class at Denver Seminary.  The target audience for this sermon is the class itself, but much of it is generalizable.  I have had several people ask to see it, so I am posting it on here so they can.  This is the second sermon I preached in class and perhaps the 4th I have done over the last 10 years.  Sermons for this class are done without notes, which adds a level of difficulty, but also helps break communication barriers between the speaker and audience.  This preaching is done with the “Big Idea” Expository Preaching method by Robinson and Stanley.

Text: Romans 12:9-16

Rom. 12:9   Let alove be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.  10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another bin honor;  11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;  12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, cdevoted to prayer,  13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

Rom. 12:14   Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.  15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.  16 Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
